Witnessing the death of his Master brought Sha'a Gi's fear and self-doubt flooding back. This fear led to irrationality as Sha'a Gi ran out into the open, lightsaber ablaze to confront Grievous. Capable of killing seasoned Jedi Masters, Grievous met the young Jedi Knight with little concern. Using his metal talons to impale Gi, Grievous then crushed the Jedi with his weight killing him. Sha'a Gi would be one of many Jedi to die at Grievous' hand.
